2018 marked the 10th anniversary of the opening of The Carter Academy (TCA). On the occasion of its tenth anniversary and the arrival of the founder Mr. Ghulam M. Suhrawardi, a discussion meeting and cultural programme were arranged at the academy auditorium on Monday, the 8th January 2018.
The day started with a colorful reception to the Chairman of TCA Board of Trustee Mr. Ghulam M. Suhrawardi, former Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral Abu Taher, ndu, psc (Retd.), and the Executive Committee Member of American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh Mr. Sadrullah A.
Mansur. The Principal, the teachers, and the staff greeted them warmly.
The discussion session started with a recitation from the holy Quran by Class X student Faysal Mahmud and followed by the short speeches of Class XI student Sadia Akter, SSC examinee Maayed Ahmed, Fariya Momo and Class X student Zarin Tasnim Dia.
Professor Md. Ismail Topader, Principal of the academy, presided over the programme while class XI student Mira Talukder and Jannatul Ferdousy acted as the anchor. Vice Principal Mr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Coordinator Mr. Ibrahim Ali Molla, and faculty member Mr. Khorshed Alam also spoke at this occasion. Mr. Suhrawardi and Admiral Taher were requested to take the podium to say a few words. They started by praising the anchors for their smart presentations while reminding the students that this institution was created to prepare future leaders of Bangladesh; who will pioneer in science, economics, and political development. The young leaders will propel Bangladesh into a first world country.
The second phase of the programme included a colorful cultural function where senior faculty member Mr. Makhan Chandra Biswas, Class XI student Mira Talukder, SSC examinee Tompa Ray and Priya Akter performed a number of songs. The dance show choreographed by faculty member Mr. Alauddin Patwary and presented by class XI student Sadia Akter, Nafisi Islam, Sumi Akter, Umne Hani, Irin Sultana, Marium Akter, Class X student Zarin Tasnim Dia and Shifa Akter. The dance show mesmerized the audience.
The faculty members, administrative and management staff, students, teachers of MAF Primary School and guests were present in this ceremony.
TCA was founded in January 2008 and grown from a single class into a vibrant higher secondary school educating over two hundred students from numerous areas around the country. TCA is in line with its mission to cultivate and nurture future social leaders, taking them from humble origins and elevating them to the apex of global society, instilling the discipline, knowledge, and integrity necessary for success in the 21st century.
